A beauty queen is wanted in Nigeria on drug trafficking charges
The authorities in Nigeria declared a beauty queen in 2015 as a wanted person because of her alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
According to reports, Aderinoye Queen Christmas popularly known as Queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye escaped from the agents of the Anti-Drugs and Drug Trafficking Agency, NDLEA when they raided her home in Lagos last week.
In a statement, the agency said that the raid was carried out after certain information that showed that the former beauty queen was involved in dealing with illegal drugs.
“The items found in her house after the search by the officers are 606 grams of Canadian Loud pills, marijuana, weight test equipment and large plastic drug containers,” according to the statement.
She allegedly won the Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture pageant in 2015/2016 and is the founder of the Queen Christmas Foundation.
So far, she has not said anything about the allegations against her.
Another suspect, who returned from Brazil last week, was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed airport for swallowing 60 large bundles of cannabis, as the NDLEA said.
